Hey guys, I UTFSF, but all I could come up with was a MiniMe. I dont need the pre's, I have plenty of those, I just need like a two channel line in to a SPDIF A/D converter. Anybody doing this so the can track 18 simultaneous instead of the 16? (8 line/ 8 ADAT lightpipe). Do I have any clocking issu...

Yea, Effectrons are the coolest. It's the poorman's Eventide H-3000. They are tits for dub music. You can't send a D2 to itself like you can with the effectron. I use one in my guitar rig and one at the clubs I work at every now and again. "Der kick drum Haus" is made from 3 panels of that yellow la...

Thanks guys. I feel better. I think part of being a good engineer is listening and always trying things that might be "wrong" to somebody. I like to keep an open mind and take everyones thoughts into consideration and I really dont know what happened there. Learning keeps you young, and I think if y...

Well, sometimes we all learn something, and this weekend I learned that punching and editing drums rules. It saved us time, headaches, and it does really help in 12 minute long prog rock epics. It took a few minutes to get the feel, but once the band and I learned what each punch was all about, it w...

Huh, lotsa good discussion here. Do you guys ever check out your room mics and move them around? I listen to the OH vs. the Rooms also. I can get a good room sound if I move them around a lot and listen in mono. Sometimes I can get rid of unwanted room resaonances if I move them around in the room s...

Dude, fuck punching drums, make him or her do it again. What else do they have to do that day? It will probably take longer for you to get it right. FUCK PUNCHING DRUMS. DUMBEST SHIT EVER. That's my two cents, but I would try it. In fact, I have, and I hate it. Just 'cause you can't do it doesn't m...

I can think of alot of things in the last 20 years I'd rather listen to than that piece of shit. Just about any music with a sense of humor, and an absence of grandstanding morality. Just about any good old fashioned dirty, cynical, stuff your parents hate (rap, hardcore, etc). That guy's a farce w...

Your iTunes library is 70 Gigs?? How long is that? A year of no repeats? That is awesome. RAID sounds good. Do you need an external doo-hicky to run something like that, if you are all filled up in your tower? I wanna get into the external stuff, but I really dont know much about it- I would love fo...
