- Topic: Upright Pianos under $3500?

I'm a little put off by the idea of getting a free piano and then fixing it up simply because I don't know enough about the instrument to identify a good piano in bad shape versus. I trust my ears and fingers enough to make the call on a good piano in good shape, hence why I'm seeking out brands tha...

Upright Pianos under $3500?
Hey Tombers, Looking to potentially get an upright piano for the studio. The head engineer is partial to the Yamaha U series (U1 and U3 seem pretty common) and I tend to agree -- I've spent a little time on a U1 and I really, really liked it. I'd really love something in the $2k price range but that...

I've heard really good things about the Yamaha AW1600 but it looks like it was discontinued. That means that deals are to be had, but you may not want to deal with discontinued hardware. http://usa.yamaha.com/products/music-pr ... mode=model

6-Core AMD + 8 gigs of RAM for under $650?
I'm not really in the market for a new desktop rig (my Phenom II X4 965 is still limping along quite nicely, actually) -- but I was looking for a cheap replacement for my Dad's age'd rig to do some light CAD work and get him set up with a little recording rig (he has a MOTU 828MKII and a Traveler). ...

Some manufacturers like MOTU and Focusrite let you use aggregate devices in Windows but it's device specific. On the whole it does not work.jnTracks wrote:@wagz i can't remember, are you on mac or did you switch to windows?
(combining interfaces doesn't work in windows, i've tried a lot of ways...)

I've really not heard anything negative about VRM so far except that it won't replace a proper monitoring environment and it would be nice to model some far-field speakers. Very interested in this tech and I will more than likely either buy the $100 VRM box or a Pro 24 DSP after I move in March. The...

I've been too busy to try it out but I think after I give it a whirl I'm going to give my copy to my father. All the reviews I've read of StudioOne make mention of it being really easy to use and I think it'd be a good way to get him started on a DAW. I was considering Record as well but $20 is a he...

I'm sure it will share a bus if you crank the latency up to a ridiculously high amount. Same is true with the Liquid Mix -- you can share devices on the bus but your interface and LM aren't both going to be able to run at low latencies. However, I have long since theorized you could run both off of ...
