Re: soundcard recommendations

Re: Any PTHD Pluggo Users out there?
i have an old collection of the VST versions. they remind me a little of GRM tools in their application... great for electronic music. great for things going totally nuts. the degrader plug they have works pretty well. way better than the mda one, and although i have never run them head to head, i w...

Re: Mapex Drums experience?
Gretsch drums rule the vibe school, with a close second going to the keystone badge era Ludwigs. oh yea, i hear ya. i am getting together a set of WFLs/Ludwig transition drums (ive got a floor tom and a rack tom, just need a bass drum). love them. just love them. so basically, what i gotta say is- ...

Re: Dre Bassline lawsuit
what is with the glowing toe on that troll? some sort of magic toe ring +1? from what i understand, if any part of an arrangement becomes central to a song, you can copyright it. lots of grey area here, but basically if you have a very distinctive hooky bassline you can copyright it, but if your bas...

on one in their right mind would want to take on the FAQs
not only would it be a very time consuming task, it would involve some editorial choices that are bound to piss people off.

Re: Analog semi-pro going to PC DAW- suggestions?
the "read advice" i got from my friend was to get an RME box. considered by many to be the cheapest way to get a real converter. but they really cost nearly $1000. http://www.bayviewproaudio.com/rme_multiface.html
for example.
if you can point me to one that has them $800 i'll consider them again.

Re: this %$&# computer?
i prefer the computer questions not to be "ghettoized" in a seperate but equal board. and yea, tapeop has changed. i think it is a bit of a reflection of larry and his growing business and skills and professionalism. but luckily you can still get some real basic starter advice from this board and of...
