All this...

My relationships to mentors were never formal arrangements, they're more like certain gigs where I learned and made exponential leaps not only technically, but also (and more importantly) in process and serving the gig. When I left college to pursue this full-time in 1984, there were very few places...

It really does depend on your target client base. Where do they record now and what amenities are provided? I'm not saying use that as your base design, just a reference point to either follow or deviate from as you develop a vision. If you are doing corporate or industrial stuff, a full kitchen sho...

Maybe Marc hitting his head at your studio is what gave him some sort of mistrust of vocal microphones... ;) Aw, c'mon, you can't pin that on me! I suspect Marc was a suspicious dude long before I got to him. I've done a couple of records with his brother Greg, Marc would sit in, and they both are ...

I met Allen once, was the recording engineer on an all-star gig of his(about a year before he passed) at St. Mark's Church. Lenny Kaye was the music director, Sonic Youth the rhythm section. I still have the mic he used on that gig...ipressrecord wrote:Allen Ginsberg, after a reading at my college in 1994.
