I was once anchoring a gobo, moving blanket fabrication over a cracked open iso booth door once with a heavy cast iron weight about half the size of a cinder block. Marc Ribot then tried to open the door to squeeze in, pulling the iron anchor off the booth and into his skull. He hit the floor, bleed...

A patch bay is preferred, but if that's not practical, plug each cable into it's own pre and label the snake inputs (or individual cables) in the studio by preamp. I do a combo in my workspace... right... but i am talking about taking the cabling from the studio to the control room in the walls... ...

I don't imagine they'd be all that great on anything at a distance. I'd recommend having at least one though. They do record nicely on some voices, and if you are using monitors instead of headphones, they'll reject OK off the rear and sound more hi-fi than a 58...

In the AM took a dozen cub scouts to the county senior home for caroling. Dashed home and setup a modest basic tracking setup for a band rehearsal, preparing for a round of basics to be done after the holidays... wanted to try some mic and placement combos before doing the real thing, plus we needed...

I just called the US AKG a couple of weeks ago about getting my D12E looked at. I was told that there are no capsules left anywhere.... please post if you find out differently!

I forgot to mention Louis Phillipe and Reindeer Records. Louis has been working for years bringing battle of the band events and helping high school age musicians get exposure to what realistic music careers involve. He also helps the better bands of that age find ways to record.
