I agree Nick, Animoog is very cool, I'm going to try to work it into our stage show on my iPhone. I'm just trying to figure out which of the new MIDI interfaces is the best to go with (my thinking is the new Tascam thingy might be the best, as it also has a line-out for the sound, so you don't have ...

b3groover on TV!
wow, imagine my surprise upon mixing up a drink, turning on the TV, and tuning in this weeks Backstage Pass - only to see a three piece organ trio named Organissimo jamming away. That name triggered one of my few remaining neurons, so I googled a bit. Then, after cleaning up, I turned on the compute...

Push it through an amp with no plugins, record that track, clone all the efx you had on the DI track (except the ones you don't need) to the new re-amped recording and apply and adjust. That's it. great - thanks! would it work to run the plugin amp sounds (not the effects, just the "amp" settings")...

Minor OT threadjack.... Anyone have some tips for ReAmping? We recently tried recording everything "live" in the same room, but to get an isolated drum sound, we used headphones, and eschewed amps by running the guitars and drums direct into the board (using gnarly old Pod's to monitor our sounds). ...

I'm with Brett I'm usually for sticking it to the man to see if he's done, but with the Occupy moment, I was at first a little scoffish, 'cause they had not (to me) formulated some kind of reasonable action plan, and seemed to be simply protesting to protest. Or at least that was my initial take. Ho...

Here's an option that has worked for me over the years - find a local "mom-and-pop" computer shop and have them build you a computer to order. I've done this for years here in Portland with a great place called Pacific Solutions: http://www.pacificsolutions.com/ They've built me probably 6-8 compute...

yeah, or a Yamaha S03 Essentially, a basic version of their fancier S30/S80/S90, etc. Super light, great basic piano/organ/strings sounds. You can usually find them for ~ $200. I've been using one for about 3 years now for gigging live (a tip I picked up right here on the Tomb, from RoscoNYC, I beli...

or 5 copies of Reaper (unless you are making over $20,000/year recording music, then it would only be 1 copy, but you'd still have $74 dollars left over to buy a Rolling Stones or U2 ticket or something. But then again, if you made more than $20,000/year recording music then you probably on first na...

man, that sounds great! I am lusting. How much is something like that? (hypothetically and approximately speaking of course). s this something that someone with basic soldering skills could accomplish, or would I need to take it to a technician. I know how to melt solder. And could change out resist...

hmm, good point. I guess what I want is for the distortion to not sound really Fendery. As an aside, I must admit I am beginning to wonder if the last 35 years I've spent being a "Fender guy" were a mistake, at least regarding distortion. Other than an old blackface Bassman head I once had that had ...
