Auralex or 703?
Hi I'm currently setting up a mixing suite in a room in my home. I'm looking at different options for treating the room. I could either buy some Owens Corning 703 and make my own acoustic panels and bass traps or I could just buy Auralex Lenrds and some D36 panels. I figure I'd end up spending about...

Logic 8 Waves Question
I just upgraded to Logic 8 Pro. I haven't had time to figure out this problem yet, but I can't use my Waves plug-ins. I can open the plug-ins in Logic 6 just fine, but the first time I opened Logic 8 it said that they were incompatible. Is it because I'm using the older WAVES 4.0?? Or do I need to m...

I couldn't find anything about cabling in this thread. It seems like endless pages of technical arguments between electrical engineers. I bought a 1 meter Monster cable yesterday. If it doesn't sound a million times better that the 7 dollar generic cable I'm using now, I'll take it back and eat my h...

So the BLA folks are trying to convince me to drop $150 on an Audiophile Chord Codec BNC cable for my Microclock. Right now I'm using a generic, used BNC cable. I don't mind dropping $50 on a nice cable, but does anybody think I'm going to get Abbey Road sound if I buy what the Chord rep called an "...

The internal clock on the MOTU had all kinds of jitter problems. I don't have that problem as much with the new Microclock. I reallize I'm taxing my little system to the limits, but it's running more smoothly with the new clock. Soon I'll be upgrading to a dual G5 with Logic 8. I tried recording at ...

OK, I'll just try recording 96K today. I'm running Logic 6 on an iBook G4 by the way, but soon I'll be upgrading to a dual G5 with Logic 8. The tracks I've recorded with the upgraded MOTU pres and the Microclock sound a million times better than anything I've recorded to this point. It's the first e...

48K and Up?
Hi I just recieved my Microclock. I was wondering about recording above 48K. When I set my MOTU to record 96K, a "word clock out" pulldown pops up in the MOTU menu. Are the connections on the Microclock all outputs? Or are they I/O? The user manual doesn't say. What would I run my word clock out cab...
