If you are not overloading your individual tracks, but just the mix buss, you can simply lower your mix buss fader until it doesn't show clipping. i might be wrong, but i was under the impression that this was bad practice, and that the mix buss will still be clipping, and that it's better to lower...

confused by dB
scenario: rock band, mixing in the box, 8 tracks, overloading the mix bus, oh no! ok, so need to turn down all the track fader levels to get the mix bus back into the "yellow". now here is where i am confused: can i take EVERY track and subtract the SAME amount of dB from each one, and the mix balan...

got up at 10am, and from 10:30-12:30 mastered my friends acid techno track. 1 version with analogue only processing (chandler germ comps), one with the analogue plus some digital limiting and eq (the "club friendly" over limited version). later in the day was working on my own techno track, specific...

yeah i also wouldn't know where to begin. i've spent the last 7 years exploring modular synthesis, and so these type of things are what i spend my days doing! one off of the top of my head: extremely slow (like a 10 minute cycle) lfo modulation of the pitch of one oscillator, which is hard synced to...
