Re: differences between software and hardware effects...

native software effects tax the host's cpu. in other words, the more of em you use the more dopey your computer is gonna get. software doesnt usually sound like hardware effects. there are good software effects out there, im not saying they're no good. it's just that they are different. for the most...

Re: Stupid question - Can guitar pedal take Line Inputs?

my live keyboard setup is a juno 106 -> fuzz factory -> guyatone delay ->EH holier grail reverb. it works great live and usually when i record i just plug the end of the last cable into whatever pre im digging that day and it's all good. and i get that crazy DC offset too i guess. ive never seen any...

Re: Autotune fav?

i dont know what ben folds does but i wanted to add that it's autotune on the newer madonna stuff. i dont think that is a vocoder or any other kind of effect. i dont know if it is the brand name AT or what. (someone up there had mentioned he wanted that kind of effect)

Re: Autotune fav?

i've autotuned drums, it didnt really do anything to the sound. it's kind of good at ignoring non-pitched material

Re: AT4050 vs. C4000B vs. NT2 lon

i own an nt1 and a c4000b and used an nt2 a lot on a record maybe a year and a half ago. the nt1 is one of my favorite mics, regardless of price. i dont always enjoy the high end emphasis, but when i dont i just use a little eq to tame it down. i use low cut and high cut filters on stuff all the tim...
