Re: Holy Fak i've been waiting six years for this!!

No I gotta start saving some cashish!! https://youtu.be/7WndAYrXRYM?si=r-oEB-Jxus1bEalE https://www.behringer.com/product.html?modelCode=0722-AAF I’ve been following this also, but if it’s any consolation, my assumption is it’s going to be 6-12 months before you can actually get one of these in the...

Re: Music recommendations - diversify my playlist

KRISTEEN YOUNG. Tony Visconti has produced some of her music. Super cool and different. This is a great suggestion, I started listening on the way home yesterday. In a way it reminds me of my business partner’s former band (dirty little rabbits) - key driven female fronted rock. Though DLR’s studio...

Pawnshop score: mini USB keyboard - Akai LPK25. Mini sized keys with springy action. Suitable for couch noodling (sits over MBP keyboard without touching its QWERTY keys). Also shown - Slipdrive pocket with Crucial SSD 4TB. mini kb.jpg When I first saw this photo it looked like a merged keyboard an...

Music recommendations - diversify my playlist

For those that know, know, this year has been about a reset for me. And I feel like some new tunes would help. Especially to possibly reinspire me to make music. What great albums have I missed or forgotten, from big or unknown artists? Tape Op (the mag) has sometimes lead me down a great path music...

Re: Actually useful Amazon junk?

I really avoid Amazon, it’s certainly not what it used to be and very little meets expectations imho. Probably the last great product off Amazon I bought was…a tire inflator. https://www.amazon.com/VacLife-Portable-Compressor-Inflator-Inflatables/dp/B088KBCZ6H/ref=mp_s_a_1_3_maf_3?crid=3P3KB8EN4BP48...

Re: Cheap cheap mics? PROAR/Bai Fei Li C414?

I don’t have experience with that specific mic but I have owned some cheapies (mainly Monoprice as well as MXL and Studio Projects). I am skeptical that this mic is a 414 substitute in anything besides appearance, but it’s probably functionally at least works as a mic, depending on context, and migh...

Re: Moving Gear

Somewhat OT again, but along with the long-scammed SM57's, watch out for Senn E945's. Read this and then check out the "from China" ones on the Ebog: https://chrisw.me.uk/real-and-fake-sennheiser-e945-mics/ Such a specific scam, I guess I have no context to how popular this mic is in reality. But I...

Re: Moving Gear

Mebbe OT but I will add - and I'm a buyer, only - that I have never had a scam issue or received a broken item from Reverb - in the past that was a huge issue with Ebay, particularly with used mic's and used electronics. As a buyer I still find most sellers need lessons on packing. But I’ve only re...

Re: Moving Gear

I appreciate the advice. I do set my store as no returns, and I always require a signature and do reverb protection. I wasn’t aware that protection worked as you describe. You are saying that if my buyer decides something is broken - and it’s certainly not shipping related (everyone who has bought ...

Re: Moving Gear

Internet people are generally stupid. and yes, for the most part I avoid the "make offer" setting because of those people. I will be very unlikely to use eBay again due to an issue I am fighting them currently (I'll post updates on my other thread). Their 100% Guarantee means absolutely nothi...

Re: Moving Gear

reverb. turn off make offer. set your price. set your store settings as no returns allowed. list as Vintage SOLD AS IS. ALWAYS PAY FOR REVERB PROTECTION WHEN YOU SELL, IT'S THE LAST OPTION WHEN YOU ARE PAYING FOR THE SHIPPING LABEL. selling as is keeps the tire kickers away and let's people know do...

Re: Watch out for this new scam (eBay or other)

That’s not great. As a seller I never ship without a signature regardless of value. But as a buyer I see that as hard to control.

I can only assume with AI the scams will continue to get worse and harder to detect. I see some very specific scams on Craigslist.

Moving Gear

Where are you unloading your gear these days? I’ve been buying and selling on eBay since the late 90s, and these days mostly put my music gear on Reverb or FB marketplace. So I’m not new to it, but what a headache dealing with people is these days. It seems I can never price anything too low (I alwa...

FS: 24 channel split snake and 4 channel rack split

I have one of these EWI branded split snakes. It is the 24 channel model with 15 feet on both ends. Used fewer than a dozen times. This model costs around $500 new, how about $300 shipped? https://www.audiopile.net/PSX I also have an EWI 4 channel rack XLR splitter. Never used, the only issue is one...

FS: Tascam 388x2 Midwest

I have two Tascam 388s, selling one or both. They are serviced by Mike Miller at west end audio and calibrated to be compatible with each other, if I sell the pair I would be willing to let go of the basically new MRL tape and service book, my tapes. I have bought and sold multiple 388s and I love t...
