It's been a few years since I used one, but it didn't leave a great impression. It wasn't that it was bad, but I felt there are other compressors which are better for the same/similar price, but this is truly subjective. I remember it being "squeezy", though it has been so long, all I can remember i...

There are many great/cool peeps to work with. I truly enjoy Dave Collins, who has always been reasonably priced, and produces amazing results. He has a surprisingly deep and wide resume as well.

Fireport...

This is very easy, if he has a fireport. The fireport in conjunction with the free software will allow him to take the files from the HD24 drive, and put them as AIFF's on the computer. It's pretty easy to do, if you have one.

rudimentary article in Wired re. soundproofing an apartment

I just read this article which I'm sure restates many of the ideas already expressed. I thought it was worth perusing:

I've always relied on Plextor drives, but haven't kept up with comparisons either. They cost more, but have always been good to me.

I would first double check that all the busses, outputs and (stereo) tracks are in stereo mode by looking at the bottom left of the fader. There should be 2 interlocking circles, representing stereo (not necessary for a panned mono track, but make sure the signal path after that is in stereo). I hav...

The easiest method I can conjure is to open the Gband files in Logic Pro, then export the tracks as audio files.

I've done it many times. PM me if you need any assistance.

Back when I had one, I built my own using 2-10 amp supplies from international power. Acopian is better afaik.

It may be less expensive to get the acopian - I think soundcraft was charging 700 for a ps, but my memory has been playing tricks on me...

I went through a similar iteration years ago, and decided against the 65. If I were you, and especially if you are doing this as a business, I would suggest the board which will not need a recap any time soon! I don't want to comment heavily without having used either beyond the demo stage, but I th...

and don't forget to look at your metronome settings in the song preferences pane.

I'm doing this from memory, so I could have the location wrong, but I think it's there.

Yes, it is still the same. Don't forget to lock your autoload to prevent corruption.

You can keep different autoloads around as well, and switch them, if need be.

PS. sonikmatter is a fantastic logic resource, but def. use the search feature there!
