I guess I work in the wrong studios. You guys have a little more class. Most of the time the studios I work at have a few guitar, drum and recording mags etc... But behind the couch is the porn. This was in AZ, CA, OR, and UT. Not just one place. So I must be working in the wrong places.

Hello everyone, Just jumping back in with some responses. 1. The Audiofile Engineering Spectres - look good. Problem, it's a free standing application. Does not work within any DAW at this time. Emailed them , they are working on it. 2. PSP Vintage Meter - As I stated in my earlier email. Was the o...

So it is a weeding out process. I generally use the gear as the reason for the increase. But mainly it is a way t...

I do tons of corporate VO sessions and I charge in 15 min blocks. Minimum is 1 hour. Most of the time no one hassles me about the minimum because I state it clearly and they understand the need for making worth my time to fire up the computer etc...

It's possibly too late, but I would respectfully disagree with that. In my experience a couple of well placed audience mics will give a far better/clearer/less phasey image than a whole bunch of them. Having said that, I have worked on TV & radio shows where the Audio Director obviously disagrees.....

Re: Buying a Legacy Pro Tools system. Good Idea?

As far as a computer, it looks as if a solid dual-core G4 powermac, period correct for the mix systems, can be had for $300-$350. If I were to sell my Macbook in the process of downgrading computers, This would put me at a $350-$400 surplus. So here's how I figure it: Mix Core card ----------------...
