Re: A&H System 8

Mixing in pro tools takes 3 times as long and the results are only marginally better. The record company will always start with something bland and make it into something aweful. Good gear makes a big difference. Good songs and performances make a bigger difference. Cutting the vocal live while trac...

it's well worth doing if you've got an alright amount of space. I did it in a one and a half car garage. It's a great space to work and I do't drive the wife crazy. Toronto is blessed with back yard/laneway garages so I didn't have to worry about isolating it from the rest of the house. I only had t...

I'm going to build a frankenstien guitar with the neck and electronics from mine and the body from this one. Anyone need a neck? I'll have one left over. http://www.on...

it might be a little more trouble then expected. PT LE won't read smpte time code, only midi timecode. You'll need a smpte to midi converter. I use a motu midi time piece for this job/. It has a smpte time code generator and coverts it to midi time code. Even then I think PT only locks to the start ...

Get yourself a convolution reverb plug in. Altiverb or jk_irr (it's free!). If you record a stereo wav of a short, sharp sound your mail room - a hand clap works well - load the file into the convolution reverb, and it will apply that reverb to any audio you desire. I've been sampling some of my fav...
