That's definitely a plus!

Not to get too far off topic, but out of curiosity, which console have you been using?

cheers,

Interesting that it only took you a few months to get so used to mixing with the console. I'm in a similar situation, and curious how I'll adapt to console work. On the negative side, not having instant recall is what I think will take the most getting used to, and for some projects, I'm thinking it...

i recently hooked up a nice patch system to integrate with my logic / 002r rig. it works great, and there are no real flaws to it that i've found. my question is........ do you really need a desk in todays DAW environment? i'm feeling pretty comfortable without it, in my workflow. Sounds like a gre...

If you're not shy about DIY, check out the G SSL Clone from Gyraf ( http://www.gyraf.dk/gy_pd/ssl/ssl.htm ). Takes a day or two to build but will probably blow away most other in that price range. It's the same compressor that's in our Audient console and it sounds great on mixes. Pricewise, it's g...

i'd recommend AGAINST the chameleon 7720. Even though it's a stereo compressor, it has a summed mono sidechain circuit. Which means that you're compressing the stereo audio path based on a summed mono image. That's definitely not a good thing once you get past 3-4dB gain reduction. As others have m...

It runs on whichever systems Pluggo will run on - so you're good with that rig!

Leigh, thank you for validating my analysis! I am trying to create a matrix in PT to output a true mid-only signal, but so far my success is restricted to the theoretical realm. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. But stubbornness is my primary asset, so I'll keep trying. Stubbornness can be a good...

But that aside, we are dealing with math directly here and not allusions to math. Yes, I was going to point that out as well. These equations are not "math as metaphor" - they describe the exact process that an MS-Matrix is performing, whether in the analog or digital realm. I put those equations r...

Is it not working on Win7?

Are you running the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of Win7?

If 64-bit, there's a note here (a couple posts down) on getting Pluggo to work on those systems:

In the SSL vein is the Chameleon Labs 7720. $500 new, regularly show up on Ebay used for $400 or less. http://www.chameleonlabs.com/product5.html The 7720 has gotten a ton of great reviews, and for the price/value ratio would be hard to beat. I got one recently to mix into, but haven't started using...

Re: An interesting/cheap non plugin Plate verb is what?.....

I'm really looking for a cheap Verb/multifx 2nd hand which has a cool plate setting. I'm definitely not going for bricasti reality and I really do not want that late 80's fleetwood mac esque verb. So, you don't like the reverb on Fleetwood Mac's Tango in the Night album? Anyways, for a cheap multi-...

Re: When Technical Discussions Mysteriously Become Political

Why is that when people want to have an in depth discussion about engineering or science concepts in regard to a particular commercial product, things always get nasty? ...It is unfortunate however, when the original curious group of individuals are then unable to reach closure in regard to their c...
