Re: Do legendary albums have one consistent sound?

I find a lot of people who dislike 20-somethings don't know, but are makin either a judgement on how they were, or simply stereotyping everyone young. And typically they aren't even close with any 20 year olds. Personally I'm 24, and have some great older friends who teach me things, and vice versa...

Re: Frank Zappa(recording info).

Rigs, I think that happens to any artist who puts out that much material--and basically puts out whatever he wants, everything he writes, with no external controls. Prince has the same problem. With no one to tell him "that's maybe not yer best work, man" he slings lots of crap into the shops. I re...

Re: Do legendary albums have one consistent sound?

Yup. It's the new narcisis...

Re: Do legendary albums have one consistent sound?

That's because the industry is not fond of signing groups that are not in their early twenties and looking good walking away. Also the cultural move towards self indulgent narcissism hads not helped. And in all truth I find most young folk nowadays self-involved, juvinile and immature. That artists...

Re: Do legendary albums have one consistent sound?

pop culture has always been about looking good. the beatles, bowie, dylan were all stylish motherfuckers. the beatles were like a fucking boy band when they started. there's just less good music out there now... the general quality level of the cultural aesthetic has dropped significantly. my frien...

Re: Do legendary albums have one consistent sound?

to each his own. my point was just that trying to make it an age based argument as opposed to purely on the basis of being sucking is kinda lame-o. good bands are good, shite bands are shite.... there just aren't enough good bands out there anymore... but i can't think of an artist coming out with ...

Re: Do legendary albums have one consistent sound?

(of course expecting a young twenty something to have something meaningful to say may also have something to do with this specific problem.) yeah... all those 20 somethings like Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Kurt Kobain, David Bowie, Nick Drake, Thom Yorke... they had nothing to say... i can't think of a...

Re: Do legendary albums have one consistent sound?

Well, just from the fact that an album is generally made from the same performers, in the same physical space, and with one producer's / engineer's approaches, most albums will have a consistency to them. Unless they are one of those heinous recent modern recordings with those useless protools plug...
