This is a completely different approach. Works better if the room sounds good and the band is super tight. I would start with my pair of SDC's in a spaced pair set up on THE WHOLE BAND. If its going to be all live you not really concerend with bleed right, so just mic the whole band. I would put the...

I would be suprised, even if a small kit, if you could get mic stands in there after all the drums. Not to mention making adustments. Unless the drummer is studio savvy. The last vocal booth I used was 6' X 8' and im pretty sure that wouldnt work. I can imagine drums and mic stands in that room, Im ...

Ive seen charts exactaly how you discribe them. But i can remeber where. I know it was a pro audio book of some kind. I have a piano at the bottom and the ranges of most common instruments. I'll have to look around some more. I know its with all my stuff somewhere. That recordingwebsite link looks p...

Worked at a sudio with a pair of those KRK's that you speak of. I think they are a great pair of speakers. Blew out two woofers in 5 years, i think. If you want to have good bass translation you'll probly want a sub woofer. Ill let the next guy tell you all about getting the right speakers for your ...

This is an article that outlines the use of B & W speakers at Abbey Road studios in no other but London. There you go for using hi-fi gear in the studio.

Thats kinda cool. It sort of reminds of the danileson famile only meaner, more aggressive. It sounds like the low end info should come up a bit. Its hard to tell what instruments are in there. It it just keys and drums? I though i heard some guitar being the keyboard fuzz, i though i heard some kick...

I know good trick ive heard of, it is to use a multi pattern mic, in figure 8, inbetween two toms. You can seperate the toms later (if you desire to pan or eq them differently). You can easily copy and paste in a DAW without messing up his playing, or you can do in the analog realm with a mult and a...
