Hey there, my synth rig is expanding thanks to this board, and I am getting ready to go on the road with my gear... so I need to protect it. Re: Off Topic a bit - Phono Styli - Record Needles

Unfortunately, we have very few local hi-fi shops that still sell anything related to records in Philly. The few that do also deal in SACD/DVD-A and Plasma TV's... so, my experience in the few shops around Philly has been. me - "Hi, I'm looking for a replacement Stylus for my Ortofon P-mount cartrid...

Off Topic a bit - Phono Styli - Record Needles

I've been collecting records for a couple years now, and really enjoying the sound of some of the nicer albums I've purchased, but my needle broke. I need to get a replacement stylus #14 for my Ortofon P-mount cartridge. So far, I'm seeing prices in the range from 50-80 dollars... and that just seem...

Re: WTB: 8 Channel High End Preamp, Grace, Millenia, etc...

Well, in reply to some of those comments... We do love the sound of our mics... we have two pairs of U87s and an 87ai... and those are all great. (PS. What happened to Gotham Audio? We can't find them anymore...) and Our AKG Tube is great... the Sony Tubes all sound great through those Grace pres......

Re: gear aquisition syndrome (GAS) time to confess

It happens to more folks than you'd ever hear about. There comes a point, where you start buying beyond your client base, to satisfy your own studio vanity... it's very foolish, and all too common. So, Luckily, I filed Chapter 7 and protected my few remaining posessions, that I use solely to make my...

Re: gear aquisition syndrome (GAS) time to confess

My moment of realization was probably a little too late... What's really bad is when you start seeing "deals" everywhere you go... Like that absolute steal I got on a Panasonic DA7 mixer... Because you start to rationalize more expensive, less-bargain-like purchases... So, you save big on the digita...

WTB: 8 Channel High End Preamp, Grace, Millenia, etc...

We've been borrowing a pair of Grace 801's for some time now, and we've grown accustomed to the sound of those awesome pre's. They're going to be leaving us soon, and we need to find a suitable replacement. We are not looking for presonus/ART level gear ... no lowPro Stuff... our room is High end, a...

Re: Roland Juno-106 For sale... Logo's a bit faded, like new

Looks as though I have two philly bidders willing to come pick it up... so it seems it's off the market. Thanks for the advice all... and I investigated the HC review further... then went to Guitar center and inquired on the Keyboard I'm buying... The Kstation will do what I need very nicely, and th...

Roland Juno-106 For sale... Logo's a bit faded,like new

I'm about to buy the novation K-station that's posted on this page as well... so, to fund that, I'm hockin' my JUno-106. I'm more interested in something that's a digital modeler than a true analog. we do a lot of live synth work... and it's more valuable to me to have something like a K-station tha...

Re: MIDI stability in OSX using different brands of I/O ?

AAAAAH! Hub! I'll try plugging directly into the USB on the g4, and if that solves it, I'll buy a better hub. my Radioshack powered 4 port seemed like a good one, but I guess they're not all made equal. thanks for the suggestion. And the problem happened even without the MOTU drivers or hardware ins...
