This is sort of what I'm doing right now. I'm subbing drums, guitars and vox ITB, then running L-R of the subs (plus other individual tracks like bass and keys) to my mixer, where I'm applying compression and EQ, then mixing back into SONAR. It's a sort of hybrid ITB/OTB technique that gives me a re...

So I can use multi-strand wire on a QPC punchdown? It doesn't need to be solid-core, right?
Any opinions on this model:

Then search for "PPB3-14MKIINS"
Should work, right?

For about $1200 you could get a pair of Rode K2s and have a whole lot of versatility. How do you use 'em? I don't know that mic at all . . . I have a single K2 right now that I recently used in conjunction with a BLUE Blueberry (and some other close mics) for drums. The Blueberry was o/h and the K2...

Printed Circuit Boards
Can anyone explain how you go about building your own PC boards? I'm curious as to how people building their own stuff from scratch go about it. For example: How do you do component layout? There are different ways to to this, right, you can do a photographic board from a positive or negative and yo...

yeah I agree, I look at buying professional/vintage equipment as like owning a home, and buying cheap or 'prosumer' equipment is like renting. Sure it's a lil cheaper in the short term but you end up losing your shirt in the long run. Cheap gear is like throwing money down the shitter. Could I get ...

Re: Nice Racks - seem like the ones...
The ones in the original pic look nicer, with no knots. Also a couple of those racks are only 2U, which niceracks doesn't seem to sell.mrclean wrote:Thanks! I think those are a close match!RoyM wrote:They might be from Nice Racks. http://www.nice-racks.com/

Speaking of racks, does anyone know where to gather some info on building them? I'm going to be doing this soon, just bought some rack rails from sweetwater. I'm going for an "open" design where the rails are screwed into 2x2 (maybe something different) hardwood verticals, then I'm gonna tie the ve...

Ok, well the deal is it's time for me to build out a new 96 point TT PB that will be dedicated to having normalled (half norm is prob ok, too) connections to and from digital i/o boxes and a mixer. I'll probably get something here: http://home.flash.net/~motodata/patchbays/ttbantam.html would like s...

It is tricky to get in to the tight spots! there is another method to soldering them, however. You can remove the screws that keep the modules on the frame (the modules divide the patchbay into quadrants, I think, on the ADC), pop them into your panavise and solder the modules instead of the whole ...
