I distinctly recall trying to jut pay my bill and get my Ota...

Rog,

You gotta go spend some quality time with Vince at Audiopro in Watertown. He's a mad scientist, does really good work.

Wait a minute, I didn't know you have friends besides me.

Not only was the T Bone interview great, but it put me back in touch with a long list friend. In college, i used to play in a band with a fantastic guitarist named Gavin Lurssen and I've googled him a few times but just kept finding pesky references to some mastering guy with the same name. Reading ...

Eric,

Sorry to hear you're bailing on us. I'd love to get my hands on that Peluso mic, but I seem to be a little light on funds You're probably not interested in trades plus cash, huh? I have a Rhode NT-V (the one that Paul Kolderie loves) and I rarely use it.

Do you have a photo of the Vox styled amp? I'm really curious about what you're up to there.

Admittedly, I'm an old fashioned guy when it comes to bass sounds- I believe in flatwound strings, hollowbody basses and a lot of muting- and I always mic up an amp to record, usually mixing in a little DI for articulation. To my ears, it has t be a tube amp. Not a "there's a 12ax7 in the pre" tube ...

You wouldn't be interested in a partial trade, by any chance? I have a Rode NTV- the tube model- that I'm not using very much.

Geez, I don't even know, they had racks of them. I noticed that they had a few with just one ear, which apparently is the way Lennon preferred to do vocals. Man, I should have taken note of what they were, so many details to notice there. Here's something i noticed; the room next to the control room...

Thank you very much, I appreciate that. Those were tracked with Roger Lavally (Roegr who appears on thsi board with a fuzz face in his avatar) in his barn studio onto my Otari 8 track and mixed by Ducky Carlisle. I just sang and played the instruments, those two are the reason it sounds so good. The...

I'm sure some of you know this already, but the changes in Guitar Center's pricing policy (and the getting rid of commission for salesmen) is due to the chain being purchased by Bain Capital, a huge, Boston- based investment firm with $50 billion in assets started by our former governor, Mitt Romney...

huff a huff a huff. Yeah, it was really freaky, but at the same time it felt completely natural. Like I said, I totally knew the layout of the place already and felt very much at home. The main thing is that every fader we pushed up sounded fabulous, so it was really easy to just keep getting things...

and your recordings sound great. That's cause they were recorded @ Abbey Road. j/k Nope, the ones on my Myspace account were done on my Otari 1/2" 8 track with Roger the engineer (who frequents this forum). It may be a little while before I gather some more funds to complete those Abbey Road tunes-...
