I feel it's the ratio but again not totally c...

Hey thanks alot Tom, I appreciate the feedback. Any volume probs that you noticed? like the guitars too loud or drums too low? I know the bass is low I'm working on that now and I'll read up on that "Lowender". Thanks again.

Peace!

BTW.... I'm also using A Da7 board and a fw-1884 (til I get my fireface 800). If anyone has listened to that recording on the myspace page I'd love some feedback on the mix I have up. The main prob I think I'm having is getting my drums to be as powerful in the mix as I want without totally making t...

Mixing Drums & Bass....

What are somethings you do to get that huge drum & Bass guitar sound? I mixing all in the box using only waves diamond & Sonar5PE. You can hear the song on our http://www.myspace.com/FiVe0SiX page. If you could please tell me if drums sound too thin or just not loud enough. Any constructive input/ad...

Tutorials/instructional videos??

Any really good in depth DVD's on mixing (digital) preferrably in the box? I heard about mix it like a record but I've also heard he doesn't give great detail. I just like to see how other engineers do things and figure it'll help me out. Especially if it's like hard rock / Metal sessions.

I was @ GC today and I was looking at the 6176 again and one of the reps brought out that pre and swore it blows all away? But it was so packed there we couldn't really check it out. Does anyone have any experience with their products. But with a price tag of around $4,400.00!!!!!! But is it really ...

I'm sorry that we're derailing your thread about gating, but if you're interested in big drum sounds (and not big drum machiney sounding sounds) then bleed is your friend. Good sounding drums played well in a decent sounding room is the place to start. Close mics blended with room and ambience mics...

If I solo wiithout the gate no but with the gate yes. But I got it solved now I think. I just kept playing with the release & hold times. now I'm trying to get this click out of the end of my frnt kick drum hits. It's like the sound of a badly truncated sample.
