Re: Thou Shalt Not Steal!
Can't remember where, but I recently read that illegal downloading of Christian music is 12% higher than non-religious music and the Christian music industry is seriously pissed. They asked kids who did it and they said 'as long as you are spreading the word of God, its OK'.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news- you might want to confirm your gig because the Blackbird is closing this month. According to the Willamette Week newspaper, "The final day could be as early as Aug. 20, but Kenneally (the owner) hopes to keep the doors open until the end of the month".

Re: logical step up from a basic 4-track setup?
I went from 4 track cassette to Digi 001 and its been awesome. If you are mostly recording by yourself you won't need a mixer and it comes with most effects- comp, limiter, eq, delay, etc. Mine came with reverb but I'm not sure if it still does.

Re: Auto tune......
Ya know... I never understood the whole Cher 'Believe' as an auto tune gone wild example. Not that I'm defending her or give a rats ass one way or the other, but that effect is so extreme it HAD to have been done on purpose as an obvious effect, right?

The singer for the Strokes is rumored to use an Ibanez Tube Screamer stompbox for his vocals.

Hey everybody-
I'm in a band from Portland called Mission 5 (www.mission5.net). Anybody from Cali or Washington want to hook up with us for gigs? You play with us in Portland, we play with you in your town?
Thanks, Roland.

Re: Pro Tools on a PC?
Which Pro Tools? LE/TDM/HD? I have a Digi 001 and it works great. The PC side was way behind the Mac as far as features and plug ins goes, but its catching up. Pro Tools PC has very specific hardware/software requirements, so you might want to check the digi website system requirements for whatever ...
