Re: Tascam MSR-16 HUB?

If it's a NAB hub, that is the only screw. some times, they stick on after time; you'll will have to rock it back and forth or use some thing (screwdriver, butter knife) to help it off.

Re: Analog Tape costs...

if you are using 48 tracks that's two 2 inch tapes at once ($$$) and a reel of 2,500ft at 15ips is 30minute at 30ips 15minute

you can go to tapetape.com for one pass tape (cheap 65ish) or buy new tape ($$$)

if you go to chain stores expect to pay over 150 for 2 inch tape

Re: Audix d4 vs AKG D112

for a cheep price but good kick sound i've used the mk 219 and/or mc 012 (oktava) out side of the drum with pads on and i felt it beat the D4, D112, and B52 for the 219 about 2-3 inch dead center but, you may need to move it back to suit the drum for the mc 012 either 6-12 inch dead center as the mi...

Re: Audix d4 vs AKG D112

i have a d4. it sucks unless you like death metal kick drum sounds it has to much attack and mid range with no real bass; you will need to EQ a lot mainly in the 400-600 range and it still is tacky cardboard sounding if you go to Audix's web site and look up the D4 you will see it's frequncy respons...

Re: thrift store Demagnetizer

yes, the g16 is good buy the fact that it's 16 tracks but i'd rather have a 1" 8 track but, i can't afford one of those.

is the b16 a 2 or 3 head deck

the g16 is a 2 head

now if i can get a 15ips IEC MRL tape i'll be stoked

compaired to the ones i use at school (you could pick up keys and whipe out credit-ID card strips etc)

this one only picks up paper clips

is this bad for the tape deck?

I haven't used it on the tape deck yet; should I use it?
