As with any mic, it can sound wonderful on some sources and just plain not right on others. I don't own any tube mics, so I don't have excessive use, but I did one session somewhere else and a Neumann M149 sounded GREAT on this guys voice. So, a bit later, I was doing some of my own material and I t...

There is most likely nothing in the expensive official Avid Pro Tools certification course that you can't learn from online videos, dvds, reading the user guide, and trial and error. The big draw of the certification is that, if you were to pursue producing and engineering work, being able to market...

You can try panning the mics out slightly, but if you dig the sound you have with both mics panned center then I would just then keep 'em there. Then, as others have suggested, add a touch of reverb to give it a sense of space, or reamp into a decent room with a stereo pair of mics.

All of that stuff that Nick said about how he makes acoustic guitar sound awesome
And THAT is why you get paid the big bucks. Seriously, posts like that make me want to leave work early and go record stuff. Great stuff!

Just don't mismatch in the wrong direction- a low load cab will fry your amp. Could you, or someone else, possibly clarify this a bit? I always thought that mismatching the load in either direction was a bad move, but is it ok to have one be higher/lower than the other? And WHICH way is the wrong w...

I don't do anything too complicated. Usually just a reverb pluggin, with maybe a bit of delay before it in the signal chain.

as it is mostly a single point sound sources, and not a true Stereo instrument I'm going to have to whole-heartedly disagree with this. Any acoustic instrument, if you stand far enough away from it, is a mono, single-point sound source. And any acoustic instrument, if you get close enough to it, ha...

I agree. If I'm playing the drums, I don't need to hear them in my headphones.

On a live stage, I don't see why ANYONE would need drums in their monitors!
Unless, of course, the stage is super big and the drum kit is behind one of those glass shields or in a cave or something

Yeah, I used the manual and read values that others online found useful and just plugged the resistors right into the dsub connector. I've only really used them on loud guitar, but they really did sound great. Much better than I would have expected for the $25 per channel I got em for.

As it turns out, I was pulling the wrong jumper for the channel I was on
I stuck resistors in where the jumpers go and it works perfectly (and sounds great, too!).
I will definitely be ordering those pots, and I think I'll try and put them where the gate switch is on the front panel.

You MAY be able to use your rca outs and your usb out at the same time, but I kinda doubt it. You would have to get Audition to recognize 2 soundcards simultaneously, the Maudio as well as the Behringer. I would plug them both in and start searching through the settings and menus in Audition to see ...

I would lose the panning of the toms if I were to combine them though, correct? No, you would still be able to keep the stereo spread in the toms. You would need to set the volume level and pan positions of the Toms and Overheads as best as you can on your mixer, using the mixer's pan knobs and vol...
