you can save yourself at least $50 right off the bat and try the Sky SEK14 instead of the SM57. it's Chinese and sounds just like an SM58, which makes it real similar. i find them on eBay for about $20-30 each, usually from the same cat in Miami (i think he imports them for wholesale or something). ...

yeah, from the cups to the jack! any mid-cord splicing is just going to rip apart daily, as i always end up getting stuck on corners of furniture and whatnot.

does anybody know a good place to get fairly cheap replacement headphone cord? not just an extension, i need the splittable kind. have tried Radio Shack, but they've gone skanky and only sell overpriced gadgets (and a few capacitors here and there). thanks!
