My band plays for free regularly. I can't seem to convince my bandmates to do otherwise. Do they have low self esteem, or do they not want the hassle of booking paying gigs? Or perhaps there are no paying gigs to be found for a uncommercial, no covers band? I don't get it.

The VHT special 6 is a pretty nice amp, very blackface Fenderish. I like mine. Seems well built, and stupid easy to fix or mod too, if you're into that- it's handwired on an eyelet board.

The VHT special 6 is pretty nice, like a Champ that's been to the gym.

The followers of the One True Tooth Fairy aren't trying to subvert science education and the Constitution while stoking the flames for a holy war against Islam.

If they were, I'm sure the atheists would be disproving them too.

Rics are more versatile than most give them credit for. That said, you can't go wrong with a good P-Bass.

I've been building guitar effects and noisey synth boxes for a couple years just based off of schematics and layouts I'd find on the net. ...I never really understood any of what I was doing though until I bought "Handmade Electronic Music" by Nicola Collins. It has a ton of simple, total beginner ...

Some parts on the very early models are hard to come by. Dimensions shifted between the Sparkle tops and the regular mark I pianos. Open it up and measure the parts you need replacements for vs. the dimensions of the replacement parts before committing yourself.

I think you might need the math and grounding in fundamentals and neither of those things are likely to come from bullshitting with your local tech. Take a class or two and you'll save yourself a lot of time.

Speaker cabs. They're going to get dropped, spilled on etc. and they're super easy to fix. Besides, broken-in speakers sound better. Strats. Nearly everything on a strat is interchangeable with any other strat, aftermarket parts, etc. No need to buy a new pricey model to get the scalloped neck (kidd...

There are scammers out there, and everything on an internet forum is public information, forever... so I default to giving out as little personal information as possible. This is just normal operating procedure and not specific to serial numbers. I'm not posting my address or my car's VIN number eit...

What sticks out for me with all the bass sounds under discussion here is that the bass is playing melody as much as groove. That calls for a different mixing philosophy. A heavily low-end tone won't work for this kind of playing. It needs to be balanced between the lower and higher notes. As always,...

Hmm... check the loop point assignments in the korg...perhaps it not looping the sample from 0 to end? If it's like the korg esx it has a "sustain" loop that only loops part of the sample by default.
