Re: NT-2 questions

I have an NT2. I use it on vocals. It seems to work well on the singer in my band. Sounds like a good price for a pair. I'm sure they would make decent overhead or room mics.

Based on the mics you have I think this would be a good buy for you. You can never have too many mics... RIGHT! ?

Re: Pacific Pro Audio Ribbon Group Buy Instructions

Garth,

Two final questions:

1) I see that the spec sheet is identical to the Nady RSM-2. Is it actually the same internally, except the external cosmetic differences?

2) Can we get a TapeOp logo?

Thanks,

John

Re: Pacific Pro Ribbon deal by versuviusx please read!

Versuviusx, I'm with PPA on this one. Bottom line I'd be too nervous sending my money to someone I don't know. You may be the greatest person in the world or you may take my munny and run..... I don't know. Sorry it is nothing personal, I just don't know you. Call me paranoid, but I don't give a fuc...

Re: i have an ebay idea = trouble

The world is already full of assholes..

Why even consider being yet another one?

Thats the kind of thinking that built Enron......Maybe if you need money that bad you could see if Enron is still taking job applications.

Re: 250 or so to spend...what should i get?

I know that Rode gets pooped on regularly here, sometimes for good reason but...

How about a Rode NT2. It's my favorite vocal mic for the crap I record. Male singer poppy, rocky, surfy, blues stuff....

Can be had on Ebay for not too much.

Re: Guitars: New, used, or vintage

I'd start visiting lots of music store and checking classified adds. Not ebay. Go and play your next potential guitar. Find one that feels right and sounds good. If you find one with crappy frets, rotten tuners or shitty pots they can be replaced. I bought a 78 black Les Paul, needed tuners, frets a...

Re: Ribbon Mic Mass Hysteria

Ok, I updated the first post with the info that Darjama posted. Don't know if this is the best thread to use for the most current info on this deal but I'll post what seems relevent there in post #1. It is just to much of a PITA to sort thru 20 pages..... So my idea is to keep updating the first pos...

Re: Ribbon Mic Mass Hysteria

Maybe the coolest motherfucker on the planet, Mr. Scott Hampton, will look over the specs and help us pick the right parts? Just a thought. He is building some high end condensers right now.

I'm glad I started this because all my questions were answered, and then some.

Back to work I go....

EDIT / UPDATE Darjama seems to be on point for this possible deal. Here is his post. I put it here so updated info will be easy to find. I'll post any more info here, page 1, post one so it will be easy to find and you won't have to read 20+ pages to try and find it....... here are some pics that t...

Re: Building a Hamptone

The assembled kit is only a few hundred more and you get a warranty. So if you are worried about the soldering.... Some of the soldering is a bit tricky and tight. You do need a good good soldering iron, volt meter, strippers! Don't forget the strippers.... big wet ones for $50 bucks cause their dad...

Re: Help with vintage Telecaster Deluxe neck

Find a good luthier for another opinion. Sounds like you need a fret job and a new truss rod. Should be possible but it is major surgery. If you need a new neck check out Warmoth. I love their necks. Some are made with a compound radius, 10-16, that plays nice. You can order whatever you need for an...

Re: Windows XP question

Not sure if you checked out the DUC. In the 002 / Windows forum there is good info on choosing parts and building a computer. Go to page 1 Page 1 is updated every month or so. XP Home is all you need and is easy to install. Check out newegg.com, they have specials on XP fairly often. It isn't that h...

Re: Super Reverb help!

I've got a 67 Super Rev. Beautiful amp. But I don't use it in my band. I use a Rivera 55 Jay Graden. It is way more flexible, has a "fender" side and a Marshal side. Side by side the Super gets a way better tone but the Rivera is just a better tool for me. I can switch between lots of different flav...
