I really like the sputnik but, the Chameleon Labs TS-2 is probably what you want.

I own both and the TS-2 can be nice and smooth or rough and grainy due to the adjustable plate voltage.

I don't like the SP T3 at all.

Tascam X-48 System restore CD ? Anybody?

So we rented an X-48 to do a live multi-track and it promptly shit the bed. I need the system restore CD to attempt to bring it back to life... but it doesn't seem to actually exist. Anybody out there have it and might be willing to put an image on rapidshare or something? I would be happy to make i...

Set-up the "Control Room" and then push the "L" for "listen" on the channel. That routes the output of that channel only to the listen bus without interrupting the main out.

You can also mess with the solo functionality but I like the way solo and listen work differently in Cubendo.

I think one assumes quite a bit about morality as it relates to the concept of intellectual property. These two things are related but not identical.

NEEDED: Remote/Live 32 track recording for theatre NYC

Hi there, I'm designing a show in lower manhattan NYC. We're looking for someone to come in and do a multi-track off our console direct outs, 32 channels.

Anybody around to facilitate or have any recommendations on rental houses? Money is happening.

Cheers,
-B

Dell 9400 + Siig TI firewire express card. Don't screw around with the onboard FW controller... you will only suffer. Mine is rock solid, 96 samples buffer with a presonus firebox (guitar rig, ableton, absynth and B4 all live at the same time) and I've done 56 track live recordings with two RME FF80...

I have owned/played through a few of these little guys. If you're not planning on upgrading the speaker I really wouldn't bother buying one, but I feel the same way about anything new from Fender as well...

OK... fine.

EV 666. If you manage to overload that mic I will give you my liver... just try it, regardless of the specs. They've been used to mic artillery in WWII.

The comments are awesome... I love it when programming nerds apply their high-school marching band music theory to contemporary music and come up looking a fool.

RE: RODE NT5

They seem a bit strident to me and more importantly, I can't seem to make them sound good. I guess I hate them so much because I was stuck with them for a while and just couldn't get them to perform... or I'm deaf.

Cabinet B for sure.....

The U87 is cool but I loath NT5s and use KM84s about 10,000 times mor often than a u87... just me.

Also the SM7 is a fantastic vocal mic for the type of stuff you're going for, especially if you pair it with one of those km84s. Ohhhh baby.
