Claustrophobia setting in...

I've been in the basement of an 1890's building for the past 4 or 5 years, which is great in that we are isolated enough from any bands that play upstairs but unfortunate enough in that in the time we've been here it's flooded three times. The last one was bad enough it made me almost paranoid. The ...

I wish I could link to the track I just uploaded but whomever is running the RPM site is doing a terrible job of making it organized. I think it's here? http://alturl.com/6ir You might only be able to see it if you are logged in, though. Enjoy! Cymbals, dulcetta, vocals and violin recorded through a...

i'll make it, but i will have to continue afterward before i feel comfortable with the results of all this as more than just making the RPM deadline. Yeah, it's only in the 11th hour that I'm thinking what in the hell was I thinking! At least we'll have 8-9 songs to commit towards the next release.

So I was up till 2 last night trying to get these drum parts arranged. Lots of drinking. Woke up, took a shower and determined that to make this an 'official' release we need at least another two weeks, three if we send for mastering. We're still in, but this is going to be an extremely limited (qty...

Intended to do 15 tracks, 4 are in the can and 6 are in process.

Oh, and we're writing and recording the "title" track on Monday.

BTW -- nice work, Walter!!

Phono level -- transferring to digital

Hey Gang Curious how I'd go about digitizing some of my old vinyl. As I understand it, phono level is different than line level. Do I need a special phono amp or could I somehow rig my Mcintosh amp to handle this? I've got a cheap presonus firepod just waiting for some vintage stuff. Thanks in advan...

ADR "Little Gemini" Easyrider help needed

I know Brian Roth's been a big fan of all the ADR stuff and might check these boards.... I've got a tech working on my ADR Little Gemini compressor and the setup procedures I've got are for a different revision than mine. Aha - just found an old post that links here: http://www.diyfactory.com/data/s...

Please tell me I did not just come off like one of those jerks on the .rec.audio.pro newsgroup. I hate those guys. I was trying to be supportive and lend some perspective. If it came off like a sermon, I apologize. I used to fix Macs as well, and saw "tens" of eMacs come in with the same leaky gooe...

Ah shizzle thanks Dave I would have totally taken you up on the offer but I managed to score another Tascam for $50 via ebay -- you never know I might want to use it someday to do some transfers out of digital.

Thanks for the offer and all the suggestions though, folks!

Decent cassette deck recommendations?

What is the consensus on cassette decks for transfer of old material to DAW?

My 'trusted' Tascam 112 deck bit the dust and I'm pretty sure the motor is shot.

Thanks in advance!

If you care to read the EFI spesc here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extensible_Firmware_Interface you'll see that there really is nothing illegal about the boot loader itself. The only gray area is that my store-bought copy of Leopard is not installed on a "apple branded" piece of metal or plastic....

I made my new Mac -- a quad 2.8GHz with 4GB of DDR3 on a faster motherboard than the ones in the current Mac Pro. All with this little, amazing device: http://www.efi-x.com/ I was skeptical through and through (especially if you take a look at their forums), but for about $700 I have a machine that ...
