You can invert polarity on TRS cables, but not (well) on TS. Flipping polarity via any method won't actually fix the comb filtering, though, only move the notches and maybe make it more acceptable. Could just as easily make it worse The only way to actually fix it is to remove the delay between them...

Would you get usable jacks froma Behringer mixer? I seem to recall the 'knobs' actually have a shaft on them that mates to a PCB mounted trimmer, may be mis-remembering. If you want cheap pots, I'd buy from Tayda. The jacks should work well enough as long as I don't tear them apart trying to remove...

I've never seen a bipolar el cap used for psu decoupling, they are polarized with a black stripe showing polarity. Knowing what you are doing is first before anything else. Don't let the smoke out. No, I agree. I just can't think of any place that a cap that big would do any good AND need to be bip...

Bipoar caps are really two polarized caps connected internally, double the losses. If you find DC offsets below about 5 mv, usually you can remove that cap and use a wire in it's place. The best cap I ever heard was a piece of wire. Schematics help immensely, but measuring voltage will probably ans...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPekZmNeuDs Gonna have to watch that some time when I can actually listen to it. I replaced my V-Amps and analog mixer with a micro-ATX PC and a Tascam US1642 interface. Basically went from a massively overbuilt 8 space rack that I refused to lift on my own to a more...

I thought I was weird to have multiple pedalboards, me. Right now I have a bass pedal board, and for guitar a traveler, and a home. I reckon I could actually do a fecund bass board, and a turd guitar ... I don't have any permanent members in my band, but I used to maintain a pedalboard for e...

I used to be that way. I prefer to use my fingers directly most of the time, but I don't really have a problem with a pick not sounding "finger like" when I do use it. I can vary the angle and attack enough to get what I want most of the time. I just need to know where it is, or where it's going to...

I took that article to be more about the relative phase between what's in the headphones and either a vocalists own voice in their head or the acoustic sound from the room bleeding through the headphones. It makes a lot of sense, and I'm definitely trying it next time a situation like that comes up....

Oh yeah, I remember that article now! It is a good idea, but again, I'd probably just invert the hardware send from Reaper. What, your DAW doesn't have a polarity button for each hardware send? Bummer! ;) I don't love the idea of shorting any active output, especially one that's kind of designed to ...

FWIW, mebbe try picking a little closer to the neck? Also, when I went from the hard yellow Delrin .73 to the more flexible grey .73 nylon Dunlops, I seldom break strings anymore. Assuming, of course, it might be you and not the guitar is the issue ... Neither of these would be an acceptable soluti...

I imagine the strings were breaking at that end of the guitar, eh? The one thing I'd worry about here is that if I'm not mistaken, the string ground is usually connected to the saddle posts (as opposed to the stopbar posts). In this particular case, there's connectivity via the stopbar>other strings...

Yeah, it completely depends on the current draw. You could probably run 45 Fuzz Faces (without indicator LEDs, maybe) from a single One Spot, but a couple of GigaDelays or similar will probably be too much. The good thing being that the One Spot is one of the most idiot-proofed of all the available ...

Musta been like 6-7 years ago now I took a random piece of thinnish plywood and added some velcro crap to it. I've swapped out pedals here and there, and yes usually the velcro sticks to itself harder than to the pedals, but it works, so... The whole thing fits pretty nicely in the body section of t...

It'll definitely work to plug them one into another without the mixer...unless it doesn't. ;) Either way, as long as nothing is severely wrong with the preamp, it's not going to hurt anything (or anybody), and the only way to know for sure whether it will do what you want is to plug it in and find o...
