By chance, have you tried the "input only monitor". "Option" + "K" is the quick key on a mac. Not sure what it is on a PC. It can also be found under one of the pull down menus.

The GML 8200 is pretty sweet, but we already have one in the room. I think it is one of the earlier ones. Slightly different EQ settings. It will be used on something else, though. I actually prefer the NTI, myself, but these are the producers requests. No worries. All of the above are quality produ...

Yeah, no dice......I think we will be going with the mastering version Massive Passive instead, which are more common with the rental companies.
Thanks for the help.

Sweet! I'll give them a try. Thanks. I'm sure I know someone, that knows someone over there. I've exhausted my resources with the studios I know people at. Thanks again.

Looking for Sontec EQ in L.A.

I'm looking to rent one of the Sontec EQ's, the 430, 431, or 432 for a project I am working on. I've called the usual suspects, Design FX, Platinum Audio, and a few studios. Oceanway has one, but it is broken. If anyone knows of one in the Los Angeles area, that I could get ahold of by Monday, for a...

The studio I work for has all of the floppy drives for our G series in the control rooms, while the computers are in a closet about 10 feet away as well. We're running ribbon cable under the floor and through the wall. No problems with it here.

Dolby Type A Cat. No. 22 exciter mod

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone might know the mod for a Dolby Cat. 22 card that makes it an exciter/stressor? I've used them at a couple of studios, but none of the techs seem to know how to do this. They all recall it being a simple resistor mod, but no one has any info beyond that. All search...

Oh yeah, it's not loud. I've never had to shout over anything to be heard. No live bands or anything, just a jukebox.

I've never seen it "standing room only" crowded, but there can be quite a few people there on Fri., Sat. I usually go on some random weeknight, and never had a problem with getting a table. They have a nice sized patio in the back with tables and what-not. We're usually the only ones out back there....

Weilands in Little Tokyo has $2 pints everynight after 10p. Near 1st and Alameda. Oh yeah, their appetizers are cheap after 10, too.

The Kensington comes with "Mouseworks" software. It lets you set all those buttons to be the quick keys of your choice in your DAW software. You can even set up combination buttons, called "chords", to get even more options.

I would love to see all gear labeled clearly on the back with it's maker and model. So that, when your digging behind a rack you don't have to keep getting up!
