That's my mastering trick for getting things louder without screwing them up!

(Although in the "mix" world, Boz Labs' "The Wall" plugin is a great fairly transparent limiter when used carefully.)

I've done this with the sides of my calves, too. It's not as convincing as a group of people, but it works in a pinch.
