At one point I emailed the folks at Funk Logic about the possibility of some sort of rack for the EH 12AY7 thinking it could be a good product for them (and something that I wanted), but they poo pooed the idea. Keep us posted on what you come up with.

Randy very cool work on that desk, must be strong as shit as those Ramsas weigh a ton. I've got a WR-8616, but yours looks a little bigger. Which model is it? Maybe someday I'm get off my lazy and build a desk based on your plans.

Great thread. Anyone else?

I noticed the monitor placement as well, but to each his own.

But what really caught my eye was the nice wooden racks. Did you make those? The whole natural wood look is very soothing. Nice space!!

Cool thanks guys. I already passed on that deal, but I need to know for future possibilities.

The unit in question was already on it's second owner and he did not know if the first guy registered it or not.

Purchasing a used copy of ProTools M-Powered precautions?

Am I taking a chance by buying a used copy of M-Powered? It's got the iLok. I'm not really up on how these things work. Do I have to worry about it being registered or anything like that?

Thanks

Okay, I'm clearly in the minority on insignificance. I'll give it another listen today. Any specific tracks you would recommend?

I love Gastr del sol, but am not a big fan of o'rourke's solo output, I think he does better in collaboration. In fact his record Insignificance is in my sell pile. I would however recommend looking into the work of David Grubbs who was the heart and soul (not to mention primary songwriter) in Gastr...

how's the room sound? The above question is key. I love my ADK Hamburg, but it's very sensitive and picks up everything, so I can't use it in the same room as the computer or a fan. On the other hand my AT3035 also sounds great but is not as sensitive so it can handle a noisy room (and I got it use...

Based on what? Please back up your speculation with something. Do you own these mics? Use the capsules somewhere?
