FS: OCZ Vertex 30GB SSD (new)

The OCZ Vertex is one of the good SSDs. The 30gb Vertex is pretty much the best way to get an SSD without spending hundreds of bucks. I put a drive identical to this one in my computer as a data disk and saw the disk usage meter in my DAW go from 10-15 percent to essentially ZERO. It is also complet...

I used it with some good results on some stereo acoustic guitars, and as a bass DI. I also had a great time cranking the input on some drum machines. I think I described when overdriven as sounding like the Starship Enterprise crashing into a pile of Jello. I don't have a great preference for the hi...

Soundtracs Topaz in Phoenix AZ

I have a Soundtracs Topaz 24x8 board which I'm not using. It's in decent shape, some scuffs here and there, and channel 1 has a gain issue which is pretty easy to work around. I had it worked on a while back to fix a hum problem, and then since then I've rarely even turned it on. It's a great board,...

TL Audio EQ-1

SOLD TL Audio EQ-1 in fine condition. This is the blue reissue, which is much better looking than the original - only 500 were produced, apparently. High voltage tube 2 channel 4 band EQ (switchable to 1 channel 8 band), with separate line, mic, DI input jacks. I checked it out a few months ago - it...

SSDs are great. I think in realistic usage scenarios they will perform as long and consistently as HDs at this point. They are silent and low power. Intel has worked out the kinks in their X25 drives, and the 40gig X25-V is pretty cheap. Read Anandtech about them. Back up to a regular hard disk. I d...

it's good. I like the way the saxophones come in. I thought the vocals were a bit too loud and clear.

It's clearly a bad thing for good music, although I'm sure it will be a great thing for bad music. I think it's very telling that these automagical mixerizers all assume you have guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and keyboards. It's also odd, because you could never get away with charging 50 bucks for a ...

I've used some Flexygy single channel cable - I don't know if it's exactly the same, but I got it from Have Inc about 5 years ago. It seems to be quite like Mogami 2552, but the jacket is different - it's more gooey and has a "matte" finish. Also, I think it has some jute-like threads in it, where t...

I like that acoustic guitar that starts it out. Totally sets up the rest of the album in an accurate but flattering way.

Great drum sounds too.
