I'd use the tape sends/returns. They're designed to tie to a multitrack machine, and don't really know or care about analog vs digital. The sends should be copies of the subgroup outs. The returns lead the the smaller channels in the subgroup strips, and should also be normaled to the line inputs. ...

Help setting up analog mixer with interface?

Hey guys, I just got a Trident 65 desk that I'm in the middle of setting up. I'm going to be running it into both a tape machine (which is simpler and I have figured out) but also to my Echo Audiofire interface which I'm not sure of the best way to configure. I was thinking to go Group Outs on the T...

Thanks all, I know it can be hard to tell, I just thought someone might recognise it straight off.

Best thing is to probably just ask John straight up...

Help with live sound in a tiny room

So I put on shows at my house sometimes, and last time it was mostly just drumless music, and sounded fine in the room. Last night we had 4 fairly loud rock bands and it was just too much and people couldn't really hear the vocals, they were at their limit before feeding back. I'm not really much of...

Can someone help identify this foam?

I think it's some sort of mattress foam, but not really sure. Someone gave it to me and I took it on the chance that it's useful. If not I'll probably throw it out. Any ideas? I wanted to use it as a front-end for DAW, or just be able to mix out to 8 channels. Ideally wanted a direct out for each input.

I have one of these but it only has the 4 bus outs, which makes it a little inflexible. Do you have a workaround for that?

At the very least, answering the question "what do they sound like in the room?" is as good a place to start as any. this is a good point. I guess I'm trying to reconcile what it sounds like in the room with what I'm trying to listen for. Sometimes to me it 'sounds good in the room' and then when I...

Im just after a solo drum track that somebody here has recorded that they consider to be of high/professional quality, that I can A/B against my own drum recordings. Does that not make sense? Genre doesnt really matter as much, but let's just say hard rock since that's what I mostly record.

Can someone show me what a good drum recording sounds like?

Just looking for a wave file or mp3 of solo drums that sound professional and good. I'm just after something to compare to my own drum sound, to hear where it should be at.

thanks
