I control monitoring through the audiofire console. Select a tab for a pair of outputs then mute/unmute/pan each channel as appropriate. I haven't found a way to do this in my DAW (Reaper or Nuendo) that didn't delay the headphone signal or cause other issues. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be...

Echo Audiofire 12 Confusion

Okay so I've recently picked up an Audiofire, coming from a previous interface that had a dedicated headphone out and so on. I run Logic, and I can't seem to figure out a smooth and simple way to get a headphone out. At the moment, I'm doing this: Output 3 on the Echo > Behringer Headphone amp (only...

I've been watching this thread for a while and would really love to have this awesome desk but unfortunately I live in Australia. You mentioned that you wouldn't ship - and obviously it's a pretty huge desk, so I understand it's not the kind of thing you'd want to ship anywhere, let alone overseas -...

It's a good point, I guess I just find it confusing to switch between two interfaces. I would rather just have everything I'm doing in one piece of software. Which might be because I'm used to my previous interface where the software had no effect on monitoring etc. but it still seems simpler to me.

Ok thanks kingtoad. I didn't realise it was as simple as muting channels in the Console software.

cheers

Echo Audiofire 12 + Logic

So I've recently bought an Echo Audiofire, and I'm having trouble with monitoring. Basically I don't want to have to monitor through Logic AND through the mixer software. So what happens is that I plug in a mic and without having Logic open, I can hear the source. I only want to be able to hear soun...

Channel cutting in and out on Otari MX5050

Did some recording today and noticed that intermittently one particular channel on my Otari 8-track would cut out for a split second every now and then. I checked mic, mic cable, preamp, and cables going from pre to tape, and everything seemed okay there. Does anybody have any idea what could cause ...

Cool, that's what I wanted to know - whether the mixer was powered or not. I'm still not really sure how you tell but I guess I don't really need to know :P

Tascam M-208 Question

I guess this isn't really recording-related strictly, but anyway... I have a pair of Mackie SRM450's (active PA speakers) that I want to use with a mixer. I have this Tascam mixer but I'm not sure if the outputs are post-amplifier or not (there are no 'line outs'). Can anybody tell me if this mixer ...

Suuuper helpful, thanks everyone - especially ott0bot for the detailed description! I was actually thinking about using a stage box a while back but sort of forgot about it, so I'm glad you guys mentioned that. Anyway I'll probably be back with some more questions once I plan out this stage box thin...

Patchbay Help!

Hey everyone. I've got a bunch of stuff that I want to start patching since it's getting to be way too annoying to lean over and put cables in through the back. Here is my setup: Audio Interface Otari MX5050 8-track (I change between these two frequently and bounce tape to digital etc.) PREAMPS 2x Q...

It IS a flickinger desk. With a ton of history in it. I mean over half a million might be unrealistic but doesn't anyone feel like it's quite historical? Depending on the condition etc i think someone would pay 50k for it.

Maybe you're not putting the mic into the mount properly. My 4050 mount is annoying to squeeze the mic into, and the rubber band always covers the polarity switch (just poorly designed) but I've never had the issue of the mic falling out or being loose.
