No it doesn't support any time code I don't think but you could do something like bounce the backing track starting at 11111 or whatever, do your overdubs, and bounce the overdubs from the same starting point, individually. if you have a mac, you can just use Garageband for a bit. Free, and it now records at 24 bits.

Yeah, try unplugging any USB and firewire peripherals, and try defragging your hardrive. And DEFINITELY try increasing the buffer setting- that's always the first culprit.
