So how does this work...drum software...
So, I'm kind of new to computer recording-and my last drum machine (an alesis sr-16, for cryin' out loud) is finally calling it quits. It makes some interesting noises, but not drums anymore. If I was to get, say, EZ drummer or something like that as a songwriting tool only (not for finished recordi...

MOTU PCI card for sale....
This is the 424 PCI card, not the pcix which came first or the pcie which came later (and which I upgraded to.)
this card works fine, has been mounted in two computers and taken care of. I just pulled it working out of my G5.
$150 + shipping, U.S. only. Prefer paypal.

ok, I fixed this-it was a incongruency between the pcie console settings and the Reaper audio settings. So. Now I am just having a weird routing issue with Reaper-why am I seeing only pairs of outs? Anyone know how to change that? All my outs say, for instance: analog output 16=output 15+output 16, ...

well,I know I have to set up the routing matrix in Reaper, but while it will allow many 'analog input's, it shows only 'analog 1 output', 'analog 2 output', and 'analog 1 +2 output'. If I got to the 'audio' preferences drop down menu, it doesn't have anything there that would indicate control over t...

Motu, pcie, 64 bit vista-no cuemix?
Anyone had this issue? 24 i/o, pcie, 64 bit vista. Downloaded driver for 424 card. (there's only one. presumably that works for all pci-x, pci, and pcie?) and the card shows up in the computer. Reaper sees it. However, there's no cuemix console with which to map my ins and outs. It's just not there....

Hi, I work with a console, and have had a lot of...ummm...adventures in getting computers to play nice with them. I think that rather than 16 ins being limited, you'll be more limited by your 'outs'. At least, if you're planning on mixing through the console, you'll need something like 24 outs or so...

nah, the ones on ebay are the PCI or PCIX cards (the old ones. Look for one from me soon, either way, LOL) Nobody's selling the PCIE cards, ever. So help me out here...IF I were to sell the 24 i/o and go with...say, Echo Audiofire 12's (haven't decided, just thinking out loud) how does that work exa...

I bought it second hand. they won't sell a PCIE card separately. Personally, I think that's kind of whack, but it's their prerogative, I guess. I may end up having to buy another lower priced unit just to get the damned card, but I'd rather do something else if that's the case. I have someone who'd ...

what would you use? My set up revolves around an analog console. I've been using a MOTU 24 i/o, but recently upgraded my computer and MOTU's being difficult about upgrading the PCI card to a PCIE card which is what the new computer needs to see, blah blah blah. Anyway, kind of not digging MOTU right...

advice on new rig?
So...been working on a record, and it's the first one in computer world (I've used tape machines in the past) and have had all sorts of problems...some I found answers for, and some not. I think I've narrowed the problems I can't solve down to this: The old single processor Mac G5 doesn't get along ...
