Can someone program this messageboard so that it immediately responds with "It depends" to the OP and then locks each thread?

I think that would be much more useful most of the time than hearing people's opinions.

Did I pick the correct sarcasm emoticon?

This bugs the hell out of me too. The main problem for me is the kids sleeping in the next room. A lot of the loud stuff is violence and screams sometimes and I just think that's probably not a great sound track to their dreams. It seems like some sort of thingy that automatically rides a fader, so ...

I think the last thing I got was a Tama Single Iron Cobra kick pedal. I'd been using the same funky pedal since 1986 and it just wasn't fast any more. I had to learn how to reign in the accidental triplets with the Iron Cobra because a triplet doesn't always make sense where you'd normally hit a dou...

I wish I was enough of a candy ass to figure out the whole looping thing. Seriously. I think it would really help me as a solo recordist to take my shit to the next, funkiest level, but I've never been able to get a loop going.

OK, so we've got floating ground, signal ground, chassis ground and earth ground. (Did I miss any?) Can someone explain that to me like I'm an eight year old? Like if I've got my project absolutely finished except for all those things, what would I physically do with all of them? Here's my guess. Ch...

Hey RWC, I've seen you pimpin' the DIY THAT option quite a bit on the TOMB lately and it sounds like exactly what I'd like to try. I know you posted the schemo a while back, but going from that to a built circuit is a significant leap beyond my DIY skills. I've been wondering - you seem like a reall...

I'll be driving the inputs on my Motu 24i. So hopefully that's OK. I want to go post fader, I think it would be sweet to have sortof a "master gain" setup where I can drive the inputs, but control the output level. So, you say "tap" the output of IC4a. That give me the hot? What do I do for ground? ...

Sounds like maybe they ran a promotion. I actually think I remember that flitting across my radar screen a while ago. So, maybe the extra 4x beyond "what they should have made" was due to advertising which some people think also drives up sales. For American business (capitalism) to work over the sh...

I'm pretty sure the boogie 1x15 and 1x12 are using those EV designs. They look identical to me. I'm also pretty sure that's an old, time tested design that many people have found serviceable for many uses. I've seen those cabs in PA's, bass rigs, guitar rigs, etc. They're particularly well matched t...

Sounds really slick and produced (in a good way IMO) and big sounding. I like the mix on Betrayal just fine. On Blame Will Make It I'd really like to hear the verse vox down about 2-3 db. And there's this weird phasy sounding thing with the high hats - once I noticed that I couldn't really hear anyt...

Adding Post-EQ, Post-Insert Direct Outs to an Ashly MM-508

Hey DIYers, I bought an Ashly MM-508 a while ago and I use it basically just for its pres. I go mic->ashly channel->direct out->comp channel->Alesis Studio 32->direct out->motu 24i. I need to use the Alesis 32 so that I can monitor my DAW and my post compressor mics at the same time (I have the old ...
