That's what I was afraid of and Oaktreeent.com says it has a tinny crystal element sound to it. Thanks!

Sorry Tom, but that's not it (thank you for the offer though!). It looks like a standard XLR, but with a somewhat flattened side like this one: http://www.coutant.org/666r/b755_3.jpg Notice the "D" shape to it sitting next to the "round" shape of the black XLR. You can also see the "D" shape in the ...

Cool Matt, I did the same kind of thing at one time when all I had was a Marantz 4 track cassette recorder, four SM-57s, and an Audio Technica (which was a Pro 40 tom mic I think) for kick. I also used a MXR guitar compressor on the bass. THAT'S IT. I actually have notes on the session if you can be...

Hmmm... I'm concerned that the tracking space is actualy going to be pretty cramped like this. 11 feet wide is small and with the stairs... Did I miss something in my last drawing? I thought the idea was to increase the size of my mix room and make it symmetrical but not parallel. It's still paralle...

No seriously... I had a 10 by 11 (or something like that) when I was renting and I was fine with the size. Now that I am building in my own space, I'm concerned about making a design mistake or not designing for optimized use of what I have. Luckly, I am very aware of my needs and intentions for the...

I really do need to have a separate controle and tracking room. Furnace noise isn't really an issue and I don't really need to use up valueble space for an iso room... I can always use the utilities room if tracking blaring guitar or bass at the same time as other instruments or vocals. So the contr...
