I was taught a long time ago that a musician's left ear hears better than the right since listening to music is a right brain thing. My high school music teacher said to always tune with your left ear. Could be bs.
I hear equally crappy out of both.

It looks like my link to the transformer dip article is kaput. I found it again using the way back machine, though. I don't know if PlastiDip is conductive or not. If it is, I can see that being a problem. I haven't had time to try dipping them in varnish, yet. Part of the job requires dedicating an...

What Altec is it? I would use the 600 ohm out if you're going into a recorder or d/a converter. On a lot of Altec gear you'd be using terminals 1 and 4 for that, and strapping terminals 2 and 3 together. There's a cool little connector that came with old Altecs that I bet you'll never find if it doe...

Thanks guys! That's what I suspected. I've got my eyes on this kit: https://taweber.powweb.com/store/kits_weber.htm#loadline Thoughts on that? If I did decide to built it from scratch, do I just solder the output of the power resistor(s) to the enclosure? Or would it be better the wire them to the ...

Re: "Transform your audio with Transformers"
Hey, thanks for the link to that other thread. That answers a lot of questions I was going to have about this. There's three questions I still have about this that I think are worth asking here though: 1) CAN I BLOW MY SHIT UP TRYING THIS? I don't have a lot of what people in this thread would cons...

Now imagine how bad ass it would have been for Hendrix to have recorded at Abbey Road. Fuck. Man, if Hendrix had made those records with Peter Bown, the world would be a different place. Chris Garges Charlotte, NC  You know, I was going to put "...with Geoff Emerick." at the end of that sente...

This thread has gone several different directions over the past few days and I have to say it?s beyond intriguing. It?s become contentious, humorous, insightful, and eye opening among other things. I apologize in advance for how much messageboard space this reply will take up. No band will ever swin...
