Re: digital playback device for live shows?
I have an old Digitech Jamman, that stores loops as single channel 16-bit WAV files on its CompactFlash card, I think newer ones use microSD and MP3 format, but it let's you tune / edit the loop and write it to the card, and then its just another pedal. Then there's percussion things like Roland's ...

digital playback device for live shows?
This question is making me feel old.... Way back in the early 2000s my band used to use tape loops as part of our live show. We'd have different sounds on the left and right channel and run the output to an a/b pedal to switch between sounds. Fast forward to the present and we're working up some of ...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
As per my other post, I just picked up a pair of the Monoprice active ribbon mics. I resisted as long as I could but at $49 each I finally caved. My first impressions are really good. The come in a nice steel suitcase virtualy identical to the one the my 414s came with. There's a pop filter and a s...

Re: February RPM Challenge 2023
I know this should probably go in the listen to music forum but it is related to the original post so....... Late to the game but my RPM record went up on Bandcamp today. It'll hit the streamers in a week or so. I had originally planned to do everything in the analog domain with the exception of the...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
Just want to step in to defend the bigsby. I have one on pretty much every electric that I own. It's the only trem that works for me. I like it so much that I put one in my strat. You can't dive bomb and the effect might be subtle compared to others but for me it's just right. I have a hard time pla...

Re: Where to sell my album
Not to derail this thread but how do you guys handle Bandcamp if you're working on multiple projects with different names? Is there a way to have everything show up on one page? I have a main band, some solo records, an instrumental duo with my brother and my bandmate had another project while our m...

Re: Where to sell my album
Bandcamp take a percentage of sales. 15% for digital, 10% for physical. No upfront payment required.

Re: February RPM Challenge 2023
How's this going for everyone? I've got 4 of 5 songs in the can and the last one written and ready but scheduling will make me miss the deadline by a few day. Que sera sera.
I've started busting out some dub mix tricks to treat the steel guitar. Tons of fun!

Re: Thread Size Around XLR Barrel on Condenser Mics
Thanks guys. This has been a really helpful start. The screw on clip from my baby bottle fits as does the ring/nut/whatever you call it from my Apex 205 ribbon. Looking at the Shinybox mics on Jon's instagram page the body appears to be similar or maybe the same (?) as the 205 so Jon's 22mm info is ...

Thread Size Around XLR Barrel on Condenser Mics
This is a bit of an oddball question but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. Does anyone know the thread size for the threaded area outside the xlr barrel on a condenser or off-shore ribbon mic? On a condenser it's the part where you unscrew the base of the body to access the internals. On mic...
