Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
Another '70s Matsumoku bass--this one an Epiphone ET-285, defretted & refinished in a lovely purple. The very ugly LP copy is a kit guitar. The one pickup is a Burstbucker Pro, & the guitar plays surprisingly nicely. It was cheap, & I find the ugliness appealing.

You can change this in the User control Panel. Under Board Preferences, go to the Edit Notification Options tab, and adjust as you see fit.

FS DIY Fuzz Pedals
I've been on a fuzz building binge, and the floor is getting way too cluttered. I thought I'd see if anyone has any interest. These are Fuzz Face variants, Silicon/Germanium hybrid, with a Tone knob that blends between two input capacitors to vary between classic FF and a more trebly tone. Blue/Gree...

Re: Recomend Me a Good Trem Pedal
My Ibanez TL5 came in the other day, & it's a solid performer. Nothing fancy, but it does the job very well.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
That's a beauty! It is indeed--I'm thrilled I got it. Figuring out the right strings for it might take time--I've got a couple different sets ordered to see what feels better--& there are a few relatively simple issues that have to be taken care of. I'm contemplating getting a '51 P Bass style pick...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
So this arrived tonight. Short scale, Japanese, almost certainly mid-'70s Matsumoku. Looks to be the same as an Aria 1560. I've been thinking about getting a short-scale, & i stumbled upon this one online at a very nice price. Needs strings & a little cosmetic help, but it plays nice & sounds pretty...

I have a soft spot for the old Soundtank pedals, so I immediately found one at a decent price and bought it. Thanks for the recommendation!markjazzbassist wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 6:29 am1995 Ibanez TL-5 Tremolo Pedal. Can be had VERY cheap like under $50 cheap.

Re: Could Forums Like This Make a Comeback?
I'd say maybe. The young folks (I have a college-age kid, so he & his friends are what I go by) are moving away from FB and Twitter and to a lesser extent IG and more toward Discord. I could potentially see a move toward something forum-esque from there. I think forum software would have to evolve i...

Re: Acoustic Guitar in Untreated Room
A (yeah, do be sure to write down what you did with what, and the arrangements), Snapshot is a cool and free VST for doing that (with pics!) inside your DAW. I use it often, but should be way more diligent about taking pics of mic positioning especially. https://non-lethal-applications.com/products...

Re: Acoustic Guitar in Untreated Room
Excellent advice here for sure. I'll just add that you can get acoustic foam for really cheap these days. It might be worth your while to spend 40 or 50 bucks on some foam tiles even if you don't keep them when you're done. It's not going to work miracles, but it can help. (My own treatment is a mix...
