Is there someone making purposely "inefficient" speakers for this sort of thing? Maybe with weaker magnets, less turns of speaker wire, thicker cones? This might be obvious to everyone my age... You can use a cheap dynamic mic (think 1970's tape recorder) as a talk-box or rotating speaker. I just got a Gretsch Electromatic G5120 (in orange) from GC (insurance replacement for something previously stolen). Already love it, it's probably not as good as a "real" one, but I don't hear the $1600 difference (especially with me playing it).

NPR just ran a segment on Kanye West's new CD, basically about the fact that he uses Autotune as a vocal effect on every track--the signature vocal sound of the record, if you will. Which would be more cool if 6 million dance tunes hadn't already done that, but... I happened to see him on Letterman...

Anyone pulled the trigger on the 'Ocarina' yet? I see it's the number one paid app at the moment... I like to do a lot more research before spending 99 cents than I do for everything else I buy.
