That's cool, but, hell, Gibbs would sound killer through just about any piece of gearthunderboy wrote:Melvin Gibbs is all over that MooFoo filter...it's pretty killer!

Re: EMU VINTAGE KEYS MODULE
I played with one a long time ago, as I recall the mellotron sounded great, but the rhodes was not so great. But I'm kinda a rhodes snob, so I may be too picky. Had some nice organ patches, too, as far as I remember.

Re: Bass Effects
Anybody tried the MoogerFooger Filter stompbox on bass? I've been wanting to try one. I have the MF RingMod pedal, and it RULES.
I've also been playing with an AdrennaLinn on bass a bit lately, tons o' fun...

Job: I design CD-Roms and websites that accompany college textbooks, mostly Director and Flash type stuff, plus as much live sound and recording as I can fit in or get people to pay me for. Music: play bass in a 6-piece avant jazz funk/hip hop, gigging 4-6 times a month., plus we have a cd coming ou...

Re: digital delay
Dude.... You have to check out Line 6 DL4. That's all I'm saying. I have on of those, and you are right, they do sound nice and they have some good earthy sounding delays. Having said that, I have personally boycotted Line 6 after hearing how they jacked Zach Vex. And how did they do that? I must h...

Re: Bass Effects
In my old thrash jazz power trio, I had a pedalboard consisting of: Korg Synth Bass DOD Gonkulator fuzz/ring mod (aptly named, nasty thin ugly fuzz with a fixed pitch ring mod) Electro Harmonix Q-Tron (best envelope filter I've found) ZVex Wooly Mammoth (Absolute best sounding bass fuzz) Ernie Ball ...

Re: Do you have PERFECT PITCH?
I don't have perfect pitch, but have developed a pretty good sense of relatve pitch. Even that can be a curse, I once spent a day running sound for an old-time fiddle festival, man, I had a screaming headache by the end of the day!

Re: Recording audio into a pregap...
I toyed with doing this on the cd I just finished, and eventually decided against it. I did it in Adaptec Jam on a Macintosh . You have to have the audio that you want in the pregap at the beginning of the audio file. Say you want to have a 6-second spoken work intro to a tune in the pregap. In Jam,...

Re: You weren't kidding!
There should be no reason to make fun of audiophiles - most of them are nothing more than fanatical music lovers with a great respect for the "original master tapes". They just hate ANY coloration of the signal as was determined to be proper by the musicians and engineers. What we record, they hold...

Re: AKG mics
Wow, now my interest is piqued. What about the C100s on woofier Vox amps? woofier like a saint bernard, not a terrier. I remember reading that the vocalist from Shudder to Think, Craig Wedren, used to use the C1000 as his preferred vocal mic. Then again, he'd probably sound good through anything. I...
