pedal steel for sale in NY
Just saw this on Craigslist. I seem to remember some of the folks on the board wanting to get into Pedal Steel. I know nothing, but this might be a good deal...

Learn something new every day
wow. I guess I figured there had to be some studio brilliance going on in that tune, but I never thought it was so involved?especially with MIDI. It sounds a lot more like a Nine Inch Nails session than what you'd think for Chris Isaak. Learn something new every day....

I work several days a week at a nursing home with residents who have Alzheimer's. I get to play music with them, and anything else I can think of to keep their minds sharp. I also do the odd computer/web gig, play in two bands, and work as an assistant engineer here in Brooklyn. Speaking of that, ho...

Volume Pedal Killing Guitar Signal
I have a volume pedal, an Ernie Ball mono model, that I use at the end of my signal chain of my pedalboard. I'm a guitarist, and my signal chain consists of a Boss pedal tuner, Dunlop Tremolo, MXR Phaser, Rat, and the Volume Pedal. It seems to drain all the volume out of the signal (and the damn thi...

Wharfedale Diamond 8.2's in NYC
Does anybody know where I could go to hear these up against some other studio monitors? Beard of Bees highly recommended them, and I'd like to hear how they stack up against the Dynaudio BM5A and BM6A's, and the Event 20/20's. I've looked at the website and emailed the contact with no result (could ...

thanks everybody
Thanks for all your posts. I checked with the guy at Small Bear who suggested Mouser since they have no minimum order. I'm waiting on the part to ship now. But I'm defintely going to need these other places soon, and I greatly appreciate everybody chiming in with suggestions. I'm so glad the board i...

different guy
There are two musicians who play bass named Brad Jones. One is the pop producer who works out of Alex The Great Recording in Nashville. He's produced records by Cotton Mather, The Shazam!, and tons of other great bands. The other Brad Jones is a bassist in New York City who works with many of the do...

WTB: Powered Monitors
Interested in Event 20/20's (not PS or TR series), Dynaudio BM5A's, Yamaha's, Mackie 624's. Basically I need something not too huge (20/20's are a little too big truthfully, but I'd go for it if the price was right) shielded, and powered. I know I'm looking for the same stuff a lot of folks on the b...

Electronics parts supply in NYC
I'm wondering if anyone has a line on any electronics parts places in NYC (Brooklyn, preferably) other than Radio Shack. I need this piece which I can get from Jameco, but I only need one (it's for a power supply for my pedal board) and it costs .86. It seems pretty stupid to pay for shipping and wa...
