Studio Monitors!
I'm having a lot of difficulty choosing active monitors for my home setup. My price range is under $400. I realize that the room plays a huge part, I'm just looking to see what everyone else has, and what their experiences have been with them?!

Re: I'm looking for a great drum sample library
Don't take my word for gospel here, and I'm inexperienced in drum libraries...BUT, I have Soundtrack by Apple, and it came with thousands of samples, a large portion of them drums and percussion. They sound great, but you probably don't want the program, and its a couple bills. But apple also just r...

Re: Apple introduces... GarageBand?!?
it looks to me like a updated version of Soundtrack, minus the video matching/syncing capabilities. It even uses Apple loops which comes with Soundtrack. I've had good experiences with Soundtrack too...its fairly consumer, but ive used it to score music for short films before. it comes with literall...

Re: Oktava MK319 two for $100 at Guitar Center
i picked up a whole bunch of Oktavas recently as Guitar center was pretty much giving them away. i love the 319, 219 and the 012....i have found myself passing up more expensive "classic" mics for these...just don't tell to many people, they'll get popular and expensive!

Re: the power mac g5
No i'm not on the Chicago yahoo group, what is it? SHOULD i be on it? Digi 001 is pretty much the only digidesign hardware not compatible with the G5, everything else has been g5 optimized. Except for the thing with PCI cards...either 5volt or 3.3 volt are not compatible with G5. If you have a digi ...

Re: the power mac g5
Proud owner of a dual 2 G5 with 1ghz Ram, 250g hard drive, 9800 pro graphics, superdrive, can i stop now? I use it for video editing, animation, music recording, and post-prod film/video sound. I use Pro tools and final cut pro and soundtrack and more at the same time and send projects across progra...
