Re: Microsoft takes a stand against piracy!
I assume it means that they set it up to save broadcast .wave files, which have that little extra bit of info, instead of just regular .wav files, in which case anyone could be busted for using a crack if someone tooked at their .wav files in a text editor. If this is the case, it should be fairly e...

Re: Microsoft takes a stand against piracy!
What does this mean? "The content in question can be found on every computer with Windows XP as operating system installed. Nine WAV audio files located in the folder " "Help\Tours\WindowsMediaPlayer\Audio\Wav" in the Windows installation directory include a signature of "Deepz0ne", a member of form...

Re: Microsoft takes a stand against piracy!
They're probably thinking the only way they'll ever get caught redhanded is if someone shoots there mouth off at a party. didn't this come up in a different post last week? Interesting story but it belongs in off topic. Actually with all the people using cracked audio software it's quite ON topic. F...

Re: need web critque
O.k, I just clicked through some of the menus -- looks good to me. I'd put a "home" link ahead of "clients" and the others-- and make your main page the home page, and get rid of the first opening screen. The reason I say that is some people search a zillion pages a day. Some people want to know you...

Re: need web critque
Get rid of the first screen that has your logo and says "enter." Other than that, your image on your main screen doesn't work in internet explorer for windows xp (I think I have the latest version).

Re: embarassingly basic Reason question
Come to think of it, even if your mbox is the only soundcard, you still might have to switch the drivers in the audio settings. Any of the digidesign drivers should work, although the asio ones will give you the best performance.

Likewise, the Doors first album, minus the subsequent tape splicing.

Re: 400 hours in
I read that Hendrix did Axis Bold as Love in one night, then lost the master at a party, and came back and did it in another night.

Re: PC based laptop
Dell makes pretty decent laptops. You might want to look on the digidesign pro tools windows xp forum. They have a list of laptops. I think the one that performed the best was a Dell centrino model -- can't remember which one.

Re: embarassingly basic Reason question
Can you get the audio demo that loads up when you start the program to play? If so, at least you know the drivers are working. If not, do you have another soundcard on your computer? If so, that's probably your problem. Reason is sending sound out of that card and not the mbox. In which case you nee...

Re: audio card or external usb dealy on a laptop...
Honestly, I have the mbox, and if all you need is to record 2 channels at a time, it's a pretty decent unit. USB 1.1 is good enough to record two tracks at a time, and monitor as many as you want, provided you sum them to two channels. You're not really going to get any advantage using firewire or p...

No shit. I think I picked up a shure pamphlet at guitar center or somewhere I can't remember that was a really well-written general introduction to microphones.

I disagree. I think Nickelback heralds a new era in music. They are perhaps the finest band this country has ever produced.

Re: Good (cheap) mic stands?
I got some TAMA's for pretty cheap, around 30 bucks a piece or something. I went back to get some more, but they ran out. Now that I think of it, I think one of the ones that broke on me a while back was a sound stage. Another was an akg I paid around 75 for, which really pissed me off.
