Is this a PC power supply issue?

OK, help... I'm probably out of my league technically, but anyway: PC based DAW system using Cubase and a MOTU 828mk2. The issue is that during recording and playback, with complete randomness, there are futzy glitch tone bursts of about 5ms. When recording, they are not noticed realtime, because of...

You guys are freakin' awesome. This was exactly the type of answer I was hoping to tease out of the TOMB. I can't wait to smash an 8-track cassette and pull out it's juicy innards and feed them to my hungry space echo. Lubricated tape seems to be the clear answer to the problem I'm having. Thanks ev...

Space Echo gurus...

My beloved RE-301 is just back from the shop with a new pinch roller, lubed up motor, tape path/tension adjusted and so forth. But the same problem that brought me to take it in has occurred after only 4 hours of use. The tape sticks to one specific head, so much so that it stops the roller from rol...

I got a Digimax FS for exactly that reason, mostly spurred on by the TapeOP review as well. It's pre's sound fine for some things. The coolest thing about it I have found is that it adds 8 more OUTs as well as INs. I'm doing all mixes OTB now and that was a cool bonus. I think it was about $600 when...

I had a puppy eat my 580s and I was equally cheered up by finding the Sennheiser company, in CT, USA. I got new earcups and a head band lickety-split. No problem. And if you need new drivers, they have them too. You can repair your own, and oh man I realized how dependent I am on those headphones fo...

Thanks for the responses, guys. Jeff, can you tell me more about your shimming of the reels? Where exactly are you placing the shims and how are you zeroing in on exactly the right thickness and location for them? Just eyeballing it? I ask because it seems to me that any friction on the edges in the...

Any reliable 1/4" tape producers?

I have already read the copious amounts of postings and discussions about shedding, slitting, lifter and guide wear, adjustments, roller condition, bad batches, baking, tape age etc. etc. so not really looking for that information at this time. My experience has been that I purchased a case of RMGI ...

I wish I had read this post sooner. I have a Model 80 as well, but I have been able to get belts for it, and for every other tape machine I own right from a vacuum cleaner shop here in town. Tons of belts for anything at all. Dirt cheap and no ebay.

Yes sir, that's the one! Is there some alchemy to turn this crap into useful manure?
Or are completely crushed drums with no dynamics it's "sound"

Either way, I will use it from time to time. I'm thinking top/bottom snare with diff. release times - or same with kick inside/outside.

Furman LC-6

Hello, I picked up one of these for free basically to mash drums. I notice that the board has easily pulled socketed parts. I know that this unit is basically pretty lo-fi so I'm wondering if anyone has ever made any mods since it's so easy and if anyone has had any luck turning this piece of shit i...
