I don't see anything which satisfies your requirements. It looks like you can get 16 ADATs in firewire (eg presonus firestudio), or 24 ADATs with PCI (eg motu 2408mk3).

I always recommend RME - their drivers rock, and their hardware is solid.

I think paper is the best recording tool for the songwriting process.
