Re: Favorite Flaming Lips LP
A suround remix would totally miss the point. The discs were made to slip in and out of sync with each other, to play differently everytime you listen to it. Its a lot easier to set up than everyone thinks, I'll play a disc through my TV (via a videogame console), one through my stereo, one through ...

Re: WANT A RECORD DEAL OR A FREE DEMO REVIEW?
Oh wow, maybe then I can "take it to the next level." I've got the chops AND the looks to rock my way into a friday night slot at the local sports bar playing a blistering set of blues rock classics! I'll call my self Sex Daddy, and I'll play fraternity house parties for keys to the pass out room.

Re: 4-track vs. Cheap Computer
His dad is a computer junk collector, so he may very well be able to put a computer together. For some reason, I thought that you could record straight into some sound cards, without an interface (MOTU type thing -- I'm a retard, please understand). We are talking about writing, not recording an alb...

4-track vs. Cheap Computer
A friend of mine and I are talking about doing some long distance collaboration. He's thinking about buying a Tascam 424, but I'm thinking a cheap computer would be more worth it. I record to computer already, but I use a MOTU, and I don't really know anything about soundcards. What would be rock-bo...

Re: Washington DC Area
Well, this morning I?ve listened to Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth, the Andre 3000 side of the new Outkast, Plastic Ono band by John Lennon, and the new Books album, the Lemon of Pink. As far as what shows up in my music, maybe the Microphones, Flaming Lips, Motown/Phil Spector, Nick Drake, Velvet U...

PATHETIC SINGER/SONGWRITER/MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST SEEKS MUSIC-TYPES OF ALL STRIPES TO STROKE EGO. I've been in the basement for a couple of years working on hundreds of 30-60 second snippets of complete crap. Recently I decided to take the all-important step of working through an entire song. Big, bi...

Re: The Beatles vs. The Beach Boys
Oh man... I haven't posted for at least six months, but I'm a huge fan of both bands. A lot of folks get the Beatles and Beach Boys force fed to them from an early age. Parents have gone on and on about their importance (and thus your generation's music is total crap). 24 radio play of the same sing...
